Smells & Memories

mwhose egoًًٌُ: Smells That's a great post, it really reminded me of things i've forgotten for a long while. It ofcourse reinforces the idea that we're all alike.. after i read the post, i read the comments, and many people shared the same smells to like. I'm writing about this post coz it really awakened some memories. Actually i don't know when did these days and thoughts turn into "memories" but it seems they did. I remembered the prayer rug my dad used to pray on.. i remembered the image of my dad praying.. wearing his brown robe in winter.. it seems to be the only "praying" image i can remeber of him... as i 2-3 year old, i used to climb up his back when he puts his forehead on the ground in "sojoud", and cling on to his neck when he stood up... he never pushed me away.. i remember him slightly smiling when seeing me entering his room when praying, knowing what i'm about to do. and when he sat for telling "Al Tashahod" i used to sit on his lap and immitate his finger's movement.. i remeber praying on the same rug, llike he did, for years. its colors faded where he used to lay his forehead... and that spot tore right after he died. When Maxxedout mentioned the prayer rug, that's what i remebered... My Dad... i rembered his scent when he's fresh out of the shower.. i liked combing his hair then... And to speak about smells; I like the smell of just put out matches, actually i make people light matches and put them out for me to snif that smell :) The smell of Baking, whether it's the smell of homemade kahk, or at bakeries... it really makes me feel very hungry :) Apples and Mango smell.. "Fol" and "Misk el liel"... the best smell in all flowers to me. Smell of books... or to be exact, the smell of a bookstore or a library... i get high on that :) The smell of wet grass or earth after raining ... i guess this is popular. Good cooked "foul" and "ta'meya" have a greeeat smell. The smell of a Nile breeze .... i get high on that too :) That's all i can "remember" about "me" for now... Keep it going Maxxedout... you have a great style, and a great human sense.
